Dividing her time between Hong Kong and Amsterdam, Yoko Choy is the China editor of Wallpaper* magazine and the co-founder of the creative consultancy Collective Contemporist. Choy began her writing career in her hometown of Hong Kong, China, with City Magazine, a prestigious cultural and lifestyle publication.
Her work has been published by a number of prestigious Chinese and international publishers, including Gestalten and Louis Vuitton Publishing. Choy is also a creative and communications consultant who has worked with brands ranging from Art Basel and Beijing Design Week to Design Hotels and Mariotestino+. She serves on architecture and design award judging panels, including the Architizer and Dezeen Awards, and moderates talks and conferences such as reSITE and Design Shanghai.
She advocates cross-cultural connections with the mission of translating knowledge and insights from the Eastern and Western worlds into a common creative language and raising awareness of the importance of international exchanges and collaboration in the creative industry. Choy is currently working on a new design conference in Singapore that will launch in September 2022, as well as a book for Assouline about the Chinese luxury jewellery brand Qeelin. @missyoko
