The TMC Helix Park celebrates human and ecological resilience. Spanning 15 acres in downtown Houston, the park transforms a multi-acre parking lot into a community hub that combines sustainability with healthy living. Adjacent to Brays Bayou, the landscape functions as a "green sponge" designed to withstand a 500-year storm while retaining up to 3.2m gallons of stormwater by capturing, filtering, and repurposing rainwater for the watershed. Building on a human-centered approach, the park seamlessly integrates health, well-being, and resiliency.
