Entry Description

The Mobile Autism Assessment unit is a vehicle that facilitates A.J. Drexel Autism Institute on their mission to discover and develop approaches to prevent autism-associated disability. The exterior and interior design of the Mobile unit is to accommodate work with children for clinical studies on autism in order to address the needs of, and improve the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families. Our concept for the graphic identity and interior design of the Mobile Unit was influenced by children with autism. The project and research on autism inspired us that no matter what obstacles you must face in life, there is always a way. We all have strengths and weaknesses, where we create our own distinct path on the journey of life. Some may need more help than others to create a life of personal fulfilment and meaning. With our life journey concept we wanted to create a mobile unit that is approachable, relevant, engaging, functional, efficient and sensitive to the needs of many. We hope the mobile unit will foster a sense of trust to the community, provide valuable resources, create a sense of hope; and serve as a stepping stone towards a road of enhanced opportunities for children with autism.
