Entry Description

Sofia Airport Center (SAC) consists of 180,000 square
meters (1.8-million square feet) of Class A office space
and
28,000 square meters (300,000 square-feet) of logistics
and
warehouse space, which is 100 percent occupied.
Logistics
facilities, which are located in three separate structures,
offer office space and feature state-of-the-art security
and
safety systems. Future plans call for a high-quality, 175-
room hotel with recreational, dining and conference
facilities, as well as additional logistics and office space.
SAC is Bulgaria's first Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) commercial development.

SAC incorporates environmentally friendly materials with
state-of-the-art technologies to reduce operating costs as
much as 30% and provide a comfortable, healthy
environment for employees, which leads to a reduction
in
morbidity among them up to 35 %. Sustainable features
include an energy-efficient VAV HVAC system, controlled
by
an automated building management system - BMS;
advanced fiber optics; abundant natural light through
open
atriums and double-gazed windows; and solar shading
on
building exteriors to reduce heat and solar gain.

The site is an outdoor showcase, providing a 5,000-
square-
meter park environment of lush landscaping and winter
gardens with water features and outdoor seating, as well
as
open recreational space, which includes walking trails
and a
central lake.
