Dubai Aquarium is a central component of The Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in the world. The Aquarium will contain over 33,000 species of sea life ? over 200 sharks and 200 stingray ? making it one of the largest aquariums in the world. The Aquarium will feature an underwater tunnel and an educational discovery centre overlooking the water's surface. The Dubai Aquarium incorporates the world's largest single glass viewing panel ? ?a window to the ocean?.
Brash Brands was charged to create a brand that generates not only excitement around the key species within The Aquarium, to capture the imagination of children, families and any other visitor, but also to educate all who touch the brand. With world-class aquariums now present around the world key components were to both differentiate itself from its competitors, and ensure the world knew it originated in the Arabian region.
The shark symbol has been created by Arabic calligraphy and translates as ?Dubai Aquarium?.
The brand expression and look and feel had to appear visually engaging, just as The Aquarium will be to onlookers. There are four core design expressions (representing the four corners of the world), each indicative of marine habitats. The designs encompass the feeling of living amongst such an abundance of marine life capturing the awe, mystery, depth, energy and diverse ocean climates.
