Materials for “Islamic Art: Past, Present and Future” were created to promote one of the world’s foremost symposia on Islamic art. The 2017 event focused on contemporary Islamic art and looked to its future. The materials were designed with bold imagery by artists Hassan Hajjaj and Lalla Essaydi, along with more contemporary graphics, to reinforce the forward-looking subject matter. The event ultimately drew about 300 scholars, artists and enthusiasts from around the world to participate in a successful three-day event in Richmond.
