Entry Description

In partnership with the State of Michigan, Civilla launched Project Re:form to design a faster, simpler and more humane application for public benefits. Known as the DHS-1171, the former application was the longest of its kind in America a formidable barrier millions of residents, and a major inefficiency for the state. After an intensive user-centered redesign, the new application is 80% shorter with 45% faster processing times. We believe this work, focused on the systems central touchpoint, can cascade across state lines and improve government services for all Americans.
