Growing up in ballet, I was taught to imagine a thread running from my spine through my head, pulling me toward the heavens. This trick created balance, making the work appear effortless, and taught me to detach from myself and step into new characters. Ballet was full of fairytales with fascinating characters that allowed my imagination roamed wildly. At the same time, my years in 4-H introduced me to homemaking, where I first learned to sew, bake, and value the beauty of rural life. Suspended by a thread weaves together these influential parts of my childhood into a romantic blur.
