This project reinterprets traditional Shanghai gardens by integrating lilong culture with modern villa planning. Inspired by Shikumen courtyards, it preserves historic lane scales and introduces a “Four waters, one core” framework linking themed water lanes to a communal atrium. Heritage craftsmanship revives century-old red brick, while elements like a century-old boxwood and couple trees symbolize memory and family. Layered greenery with red brick balances culture and function, creating a “garden lilong” Shikumen experience.
