This work combines a leather upper inspired by the twin-tooth geta and the tabi, reinterpreting Japanese tradition. It condenses the essence of Japanese culture and craftsmanship while integrating Western shoemaking, resulting in a daring pair. It was made possible only through facing Japanese culture and my own roots, through continuous learning, and through pursuing shoemaking in Japan. Through footwear as a medium, this piece proposes a new value—where Japan and the West, tradition and modernity, culture and sensibility intersect. Who will rise to the challenge of wearing this pair?
