Into the Abyss: 3D Character & Environment Animation

This project was created for a 3D Animation Pipeline class and explores the full animation process—from concept and character design to modeling, rigging, animation, and compositing.

Set in a mysterious deep-sea world, it follows a scientist-diver collecting rare ocean creatures. I was responsible for every stage of production, including designing characters and props, 3D modeling, animation, lighting, and rendering. This solo project was brought to life using Maya, Substance Painter, Arnold, Nuke, and After Effects.

I’m Wildy Riftian, a visual artist and designer from Indonesia. I started out in graphic design after earning my BFA in Visual Communication Design from Kookmin University in Seoul.

Wanting to expand my creative skills, I returned to school and am now pursuing an M.A. in Animation at SCAD Savannah, where I’m currently exploring 3D animation and motion design from a more technical perspective.

CoMotion 2025 – Best in Show & Best in Infographic Design "Flavors of Indonesia" received both awards for excellence in design and storytelling. Selected by industry professionals at SCAD Savannah’s CoMotion conference.

Best Visual Design – Framer Awards 2024, Awarded for a collaborative portfolio website project created with Agnes Andreyana. Recognized for its curated layout, interactivity, and use of 3D design elements.

5th Place – 2024 24-Hour Animation Contest, Placed 5th out of 500+ global submissions in Legends Animated’s annual competition. Our team, NewBeez, created a short animated film titled Betr-AI, exploring AI and identity under a 24-hour deadline.
