Torre Balderas redefines urban living through compact, flexible housing for first-time homeowners in Mexico City’s Historic Center. Located on a 46×230ft lot in a high-density zone, the project used an urban planning mechanism to reduce the footprint and build vertically through two towers. It fosters community with shared amenities, promotes alternative mobility through generous bike parking exceeding local regulations, and integrates vertical gardens as passive strategies. Flexible unit layouts and a full-scale prototype reflect a design rooted in social responsibility and spatial hierarchy.
