Entry Description

Located on a site with deep ties to Nikon, the project creates a place for discovery, interaction, and engagement across users. The design also gives rise to a new type of workplace: large office floors are organized around two narrow “Communication Frames” that consolidate shared functions and encourage chance encounters. This central spine integrates multipurpose spaces such as refresh areas, stairwells, and kitchens. With tiered floor platforms on alternating floors that facilitate movement between the Communication Frames, the design creates a workplace with the circulation of a city.
