Origami House

Origami House is located in a small beach town on the Atlantic coast of Argentina. The design was inspired by origami: the art of transforming paper into a finished sculpture without the use of cuts or markings on the paper. The complex structure was extended from ceiling to floors to create triangular shaped walls and roofs that resemble as being perfectly “folded”. These walls act as a bioclimatic skin, working as solar shields for the hot sun during summer and strong storms during winter. Each opening in the concrete was meticulously studied to offer dramatic views of the forest.

Diacono Arquitectos is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The studio is formed by architects Adrian Diacono and Patricio Diacono, father and son.

Our premise is to provide our clients with a unique creation in line with the specific conditions of the location and themselves. The assimilation of nature and vanguard design are key to our proposal.
