Entry Description

Two houses like "hideaway inns" with the theme of extraordinary spaces. One house "Traveling Heart Doma" features a tiled living room inspired by "Tori Doma" (traditional Japanese passageway)and a large open ceiling, creating an extraordinary feeling of being out of the ordinary while traveling or at a cafe. The other house "Praise of Shadows"allows you to enjoy the shadows created by the soft natural light from the small garden and skylights,as well as the glittering spatial presentation created by architectural lighting. These work tackle the reconsideration of Japanese "Machiya" architecture.
