"Dear Liu Fang" is a project that aims to bring us back to the slower-paced times of the past.
The inspiration for this project comes from the letters my mother, Liu Fang, exchanged with her relatives and friends during the 1980s and 1990s. Additionally, it draws from a unique tradition in my hometown: the pieced quilt cover. In early Chinese society, there was a custom of sewing pieced quilt covers, where quilts were made from pieces of cloth collected from neighbors. This practice was a way to gather blessings and care from the community.
