The collection "Thrive " or "Sheng Zhang ", where "Sheng " means "born " and "Zhang " means "grow ". Together it represents a stage of Shiyu’s life in the past few years where she has been through many losses and incompleteness like many from the younger generation. Yet she still bursts in hope and wants to convey that to her audiences through fashion. She designed from textile to 3D models with influence from her Chinese heritage. Where they are all part of who she is. “With all the medium, I’m just telling my own story.” Her design is her self-narrative.
