The proposed Manhattan branch of the Museum of Moving Images is inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle," specifically the soaring scene over a Victorian-style cityscape. This inspiration shapes the museum's design. Inside, the design abstractly interprets Victorian rooftops in a modern way, visible in the unique angles and architectural elements of the roofed screening rooms. Glass staircases create a flying sensation, immersing visitors in Miyazaki's magic.
