In 2021, the WePlay team took the first step towards working with fighting game disciplines by launching the WePlay Ultimate Fighting League, a long-term tournament project for professional fighting game players.
In terms of intensity, passion, and energy, fighting games are in no way inferior to and sometimes even beat traditional sports. So while working on the WePlay Ultimate Fighting League design, the team sought to emphasize the emotion and spectacle inherent to fighting game disciplines: emotion and drive above all else, every frame being pure entertainment and making one’s blood boil.
Founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2011 by Yura Lazebnikov and Oleg Krоt, and with dual headquarters in Los Angeles, California, and Kyiv, Ukraine, WePlay is a content-driven production company that blends gaming, technology, and storytelling to create unparalleled viewer experiences.
