Entry Description

Repurpose by Siobhan Mackenzie is a womenswear ready-to-wear collection made out of leftover remnant silk fabrics.
Incorporating her signature style, of contemporary kilts, hand-crafted in Scotland, Mackenzie merges her sustainable ethos with her innovative style of design to create this collection.

The designer was brought up with her father working as an environment officer for over thirty years, therefore when starting her business in 2014, sustainability was a key factor in her process. Over the years she collected offcuts from bespoke orders to create this luxurious plaid collection.

Bio

Siobhan Mackenzie is a multi award-winning Scottish fashion designer.

Five days after graduating with a First Class BA Honours degree in Fashion Design & Production Siobhan launched her self-named label in 2014, aged 21.

Her innovative design flair mixed with a Made in Scotland brand ethos reinvents the classics into a contemporary label inspired by Scotland.

Sustainability has a large part to play within the brand’s ethos- promoting a slow fashion concept in contrast to the fast-fashion industry. Mackenzie grew up with her father working as an environment officer.
