A Thali is a Hindi word for ‘A plate’. An Indian Thali is a cultural exploration of the cuisine in different states of India. Traditionally, a Thali is a circular or a banana leaf platter made up of several dishes that capture the culture, cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients of a particular Indian state.
This project promotes the food culture of Indian Thalis with illustrations and typography. The circular outline of the booklet represents the thalis' circular serving plate and the lettering is inspired by the bright and colorful ‘Indian truck art’ that captures the essence of India.
