Heart-lung machines (HLM) replace the heart and lungs during open-heart surgeries. Due to the chaotic operating theater environment, high workload, and stress, perfusionists (users) can make mistakes while operating the HLMs, which could cause severe harm to patients. Aselsan HLM aims to decrease the physical and cognitive load on perfusionists by enabling them to create custom-designed layouts easily for each operation, providing informative/clear information, giving continuous feedback, and bringing crucial interactions closer to users.
