Entry Description

This project is a hypothetical bid for the 2032 Summer Olympics as a joint undertaking by Shanghai and Hangzhou. For the event, I conceptualized a combination mark that blends the stepped overhanging roofs of the Expo 2010 China Pavilion with the flying eaves of the West Lake Pagoda, two famous architectural landmarks from Shanghai and Hangzhou respectively. As these landmarks are representative of a wider architectural style that
prevails in each city, I decided to combine these two symbols to represent a sense of solidarity between the two, reflecting the greater purpose of the Olympics.
