My concept is centered around the art of animation, and how it provides an escape from reality and feelings of nostalgia. Being a young adult, it is easy to lose touch with childhood joy due to the variety of stressors in everyday life. When we reminisce on our childhood it brings back sentimental longing and affection for the past, ultimately resulting in happiness. My collection displays a character I designed based off of myself and her pet pig sidekick as they journey through some of the most popular cartoons in the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
