Through the window

Due to strong fondness for sons over daughters especially in India, women are often forced to undergo abortion to terminate female foetus after sex recognition tests.
By using graphic with strong figure-ground relationships & self- written poetic narrative, this zine tries to show the devastating pain a mother goes through while such cruelty is carried out against her will. It is designed in a cyclic manner where the reverse side of the accordion fold is also used. The story repeats itself on the other side & hence the whole book forms a loop enhancing the seriousness of this evil practice.

I am a versatile designer & a lifetime learner, interested in creating impactful experiences by always seeking to learn something new & exciting. My interests lies in experience design, visual communication and iconography. I want to be able to learn more and bring my ideas and stories into the mainstream worldview & remove the stigmas about women’s health by introducing positive thinking.
