Entry Description

Building Yourself is a women’s couture collection that expresses the idea that a person builds themselves through various life experiences instead of “finding themselves.” It incorporates aspects from the designer's life that impacted her, and it takes great inspiration from her Mexican heritage through colors and the idea of the piñata. In the collection, the coats simulate the piñata’s shell, with them being colorful, highly decorated, and oversized while the inner layers have little small details that serve as the surprise of the piñata. The collection's goal is to spread joy and have fun.
