COVID pandemic crucially changes people' lifestyle. The sudden changes in lifestyle, working environment, and how we connect to people bring us many mental health threats. When the working space and living space mix, people will feel frustrated and confusing when they need a decent break.‘Hermitage’ is a residential furniture set, to improve people’s well-being by providing aesthetic, comfortable environments to help them reach inner peace. It creates a meditative domestic space – the site where ideas happen, and tranquillity is necessary.
Designer Tongqi Lu is inspired by the calming power of nature — the mountains blanketed in fog and the gentle waves of the blue sea are a sharp contrast to overwhelming city landscapes. She is passionate about creating objects that improve the well-being of a society gradually losing touch with the present moment. Every design is meticulously crafted to enhance awareness and to enable urban residents to feel the soothing and relaxing effects of nature.
