This hand-drawn identity was created for a family-run shop specializing in hand-made Eastern European art and wood carvings. The inspiration behind the brand name and iconography is Syrin, a mythical creature of Slavic legends, with a head of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird. In order to bring this character to life, the identity was meticulously hand-crafted to resemble traditional woodcuts with rough edges, imperfections and hand-printed texture. Cyrillic-inspired typography grounds this identity using bold letterforms and sharp angles.
