Entry Description

Koniku Kore is a sensor device that uses living rat brain neurons to detect explosives, pathogens, cancer cells, and more. The neurons are fused to a silicon chip with microfluidic chambers. Live cells then sample their environment when air flows in. Kore’s genius is in how it converts a lifeform signal from a programmed neuron into a digital message, such as “sniff” out threats in an airport, or “taste” food for quality assurance. Our unique design features an organic form and nostril-like holes for airflow. Kore is the result of biology merged with groundbreaking technology and design.
