hrough the use of different fiber finishes and processes, this collection aims to portray the effects of colonization not only through an apparel design perspective but also through the evolution of materials first used in native and indigenous cultures around the world. Based mainly in anthropological research and literature, the inspiration of this collection starts in La Paz, Bolivia, and moves into the African congo through Joseph Conrad’s heart of darkness, and into Indochina through my own personal travels and primary research.
