transTexture can display multiple kinetic textures mix with numerous lights according to the control of users. Therefore, the surface of the lampshade exhibits a hybrid materiality of the lamp. A texture-triggering system is embedded in transTexture which can be driven by a gear controlled texture-display mechanism. The base and cap of transTexture are made of wood, the lampshade of transTexture is crafted with a piece of fabric. The design process relies heavily on programming, 3D printing, CAD, and CAM.
