Entry Description

I chose to re-brand Ms. Magazine, an American
feminist magazine published quarterly. The magazine
began in 1971 as a part of New York magazine, and
offers alternative views on women’s rights issues. The
mission statement of the publication is: “Reporting,
rebelling and truth-telling for more than 40 years.” I
decided to re-brand the cover, masthead, and feature
article to give them a bold look that reflects this
statement, and would also attract a younger
generation of readers. I chose vibrant colored
photographs paired with a sans-serif typeface to
achieve this, while keeping a clean layout to keep the
serious tone of the magazine.
