Combining traditional, Old World grandeur with a flowing, modern connectivity, this home transitions effortlessly from formal business entertaining to casual family living. Finishings and fabrics not only give visual depth and texture, but create a tactile experience of luxury. Many functional necessities are “hidden” in plain view: air-conditioning vents concealed behind moulding details, sprinkler heads in ceiling motif.
A two-storey foyer introduces home’s unifying theme of opulence: inlaid marble flooring, domed ceilings with silver-leaf inlay and hand-painted motifs, exotic-wood millwork, and custom-designed metal filigree accents. Floor-to-ceiling columns plus archways and curved transom windows add architectural weight and visual grounding.
Distinctly masculine, office’s wide-screen monitor specifically installed to function as TV, digital art display, or overseas video-conferencing unit.
Lower-level piazza replicates the romance of an outdoor English garden/pavilion… just indoors. Hand-painted mural’s forced-perspective creates illusion that a pathway behind the fully-functional fountain is always moving away from the observer.

In recent years, Carol has shifted her concentration mainly to residential design. Although her clientele has changed, Carol has always held true to her design philosophy. "Successful interior design is a blend of interior elements which serve aesthetic, and functional purposes that reflect your personality, and enhance your lifestyle. Each project is considered to be unique. I work hard to dialogue with the client to create holistic and individual concepts.” Carol is known for creating "Timeless Designs of different styles": trends come and go but Carol's aim is to create bespoke, classic, fashion forward, and functional designs that are able to stand the test of time. To this end, Carol’s designs reflect her consummate attention to the most minute of details, as well as her refined sensibility in the use of materials. Carol Faan was educated at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver. In 2010 she earned the designation of Registered Interior Designer (RID).
