Entry Description

The purpose of this project was to create a sustainable design of a house using materials that will last for centuries. The setting is of my choice. It does not have to be real but I did have to explain the environment of this place. I proposed a setting in an open field with lots of sunlight and vegetation. My design is set up in a community context meaning that more and more people would be willing to live there. The house is designed for six people. I provided large windows to allow for natural light to enter into the house. The windows are tinted to prevent an overload of heat gain entering in the house. I also provided a canopy for shade which can be seen in the renderings. What is used to power this house is a windmill to save on the use of electricity. I used wood as my chief source of material for the house to save on the cost of materials.
