The project draws inspiration from Taiwan’s irrigation ponds, reinterpreting water ripples as overlapping sloped roofs. The lightweight canopy collects rainwater and frames the sky through a central cut-out. Beneath, 40 slender columns support volumes that seem to rise from the earth. Materials like rammed earth, concrete, and glass in beige-grey tones blend with nature. Curved lighting, wall washers, and uplights add radiance. Natural ventilation and sustainable design ensure comfort, making the building responsive to Qingpu’s cultural and environmental rhythm.
