Entry Description

Eye for Earth, Eye for Sky preserves the ancient Engine House and the mine as authentic ruins with minimal interventions. Local materials like timber and stone blend the ruins with three new facilities: an accommodations, a wellness center, and a museum. Two timber volumes flank the heritage structure—a smaller one housing a service center, restaurant, and café, and a larger triangular museum extending the gable profile of the vestige. Visitors traverse the Engine House via a bridge or descend to its ground, connecting the mine’s past with its new role as a site for introspection.
