The University of Southern Maine’s Portland Commons Residence Hall and McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success, designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, are transformative additions to USM. The two new buildings have replaced a parking lot with 580 new residential beds, a green quad, a dining common, and spaces for career services, student affairs, and the university store. As the largest project in the school’s history, the complex is now the heart of the campus, meeting unique housing and student life needs while welcoming commuting students and the broader community.
