Entry Description

Kingsbury Run, a disregarded landfill in Southeast Cleveland's Kinsman neighborhood, is currently seen as a blight due to its history of instability and racial segregation. This location was once a vibrant ecosystem. Today, the neglect has allowed nature, including invasive plants, to reclaim the land, creating an urban wilderness. Laces, Ties and Knots aims to reestablish connections between Kinsman residents, nature, and the wider city, by addressing the impacts of environmental racism. The project envisions a rejuvenation process that promotes social, cultural, and ecological unity.
