Entry Description

Almatierra is a new sustainable and innovative footwear brand that merges ergonomic design with low-impact natural materials. Made from locally sourced, chemical-free vegetable-tanned leather, its artisanal production minimizes waste, energy use and transport while ensuring traceability and durability. A functional and aesthetic design that enhances foot biomechanics, promotes mindful walking, and connects the body to the Earth. A fusion of minimal, barefoot and earthing footwear achieving maximum comfort with minimal material use.

Bio

photoAlquimia is an artistic studio founded by Pilar Balsalobre and Carlos Jiménez, with 20 years of experience creating narratives and tools to raise awareness about nature and sustainability. Their multidisciplinary work bridges humans and nature through art, design, craftsmanship, and tradition. They create exhibitions, installations, eco-design, and photography with a critical and minimalist approach. Their work has received national and international awards and has been featured in renowned art and design publications.
