The LiNEST project is located within the high-density urban environment of Shanghai and is composed of a vertical community tower, which integrates a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and apartments, together with a preserved historic Lilong street that has been renewed and adapted into commercial and public spaces. The design breaks away from the isolation and segregation of traditional elderly care communities, proposing a sustainable urban model for aging in which intergenerational exchange, cultural continuity, and community vitality coexist.
