222 Fifth is a 9-story, 200K SF R&D building in Seattle designed to optimize tenant space for work & research. Gensler's design creates movement through the building and sets it apart from traditional research buildings. The massing features vertically stacked volumes, a nod to nearby MoPOP’s sculptural architecture. A curved facade is inspired by the skate park below. The design includes a vertical stair encouraging tenant interaction and movement between floors, multiple decks & rooftop terrace with sweeping views, and enhanced energy efficiency through high-performance glazing & insulation.
