Entry Description

Sauska Tokaj winery is located in the UNESCO protected historic wine region of Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary. The architectural concept was inspired by the “untouched untouchable” - the view of undulating vineyards. The lens-shaped forms of the visitor areas appear like gentle volumes floating above the landscape while the winemaking process, which requires constant temperature and a larger space, is located under the ground.

Bio

BORD Architectural Studio is a Hungarian architectural studio whose works are listed among the determining creations of contemporary architecture in Hungary. The studio offers complete solutions from the conceptual to the completion phase in three European cities: Budapest, Debrecen and Zurich. In order to guarantee human-centred and sustainable designs, the studio has a separate department with its own landscape architects and mechanical engineers. The unique atmosphere of their projects is designed by Peter Bordas, the founder and lead architect of the office.
