This project creates two homes (4-min walk to station) as an Urban Sanctuary, turning a narrow dead-end street into a peaceful retreat. To maximize limited space, we used Cooperative Lot Design: each home borrows the landscape (Shakkei) of the other’s garden to enhance openness. A stone-paved path and garden form an "Experiential Journey" to the entrance, visible from inside. Two Japanese interior themes shape the design: Kōin Fūga (Poetics of Light & Shadow, with thoughtful lighting) and Bimoku Shūrei (Elegance of Wood, evoking calm). This redefines the beauty and value of urban housing.
