Entry Description

This collection draws inspiration from Ophelia in Shakespeare's classic tragedy Hamlet. What most moved me about this tragic figure was her poetic state between life and death after falling into the water—a “poignant fusion of aesthetic beauty and tragic perfection.”
These expansive, 3D forms pay homage to historical styles while serving as a metaphor for a “protective space.” The billowing fabrics resemble a lover's final embrace, offering an illusory sense of security to the young woman marching toward her doom.
