Sustainable design is crucial in response to climate change and resource shortage. This is Loofah? utilizes a natural material, loofah, which is featured by its high porosity and low density due to its unique structure. Using a customized bio-binder recipe consisting of gelatin and coffee grounds, we created a coffee table and a domed lamp. Loofah combined with bio-binders resulted in a strong and naturally curved shape for the lamp. Our loofah furniture is 100% biodegradable, minimizing the environmental impact, integrating design and sustainability to inspire the industry.
