Entry Description

In today's society, we are easily manipulated by the content we consume on social media and have the constant pressure we put upon ourselves to be more like others. Décalcomanie - a composite word, meaning to "trace madness" - is a process in which one transfers the same wet material onto another surface create unpredictable patterns and colour effects. The use of décalcomanie to design this collection ties with the concept of people’s desire to become the reflection of what they see on social media.

Bio

JH (Jung Hyun) Yang is a South Korean creative with a focus in fashion design. She is a graduate from Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Science, in Fashion Design & Management - Fiber Science & Apparel Design. Raised and based internationally in Germany, China, Korea, and America, JH integrates her unique multi-cultural identity and upbringing into her works. The overall DNA of the JH Yang brand not only covers inspirations from Yang’s empirical experiences, but it also highlights the Zeitgeist and striving to spark conversation regarding current events she feels most connected to, social
