Rever Holdings Ryogoku Office

The office design of Rever Holdings in Ryogoku, located in Tokyo, revolves around non-systematically arranged cores that serve to unify loosely arranged, irregular spaces. Through the careful integration of natural light and air, the building is designated as energy-saving ZEB Ready. Simulations were held to determine the effects of light, wind and heat, so as to ascertain the optimal shape of the atrium and exterior walls; this monitoring is ongoing even after building completion, in a continuous adaptive architectural process that responds to the organization’s growth and transformation.

Ikuya Hanaoka is the chief architect working for Takenaka corporation, one of the largest design and construction companies in Japan.
In 2016, Ikuya Hanaoka had built the concept of the 'Advanced Design Group' in his company to challenge in the advanced field of both design and engineering, and leading the group since then.
The aim of the group is to maximize the possibility of the projects by challenging design, computation, and digital fabrication. This group is not only composed with architects, but also with environmental designer and programmer to highly integrate design and engineering.
