Entry Description

Once derelict, a historic West Tampa warehouse was transformed by the Center for Architecture & Design into its permanent home and a community hub. The adaptive reuse project revived hidden historic features while adding a modern gallery and meeting space, contributing to the neighborhood’s ongoing revitalization. Adjacent to the Balbin Bros. “El Sidelo” Cigar Factory soon a boutique hotel the building’s restored façade reveals its 1906 rhythm, while interiors preserve terrazzo floors, tin ceilings, and original wood beams. Now a Local Landmark, it embodies preservation, reuse, and community.
