Entry Description

The Mercer Island Public Safety and Public Works Headquarters co-locates staff, equipment and vehicles, from six city departments, underneath a single structure that protects city staff and equipment, and promotes operational efficiency in the performance of essential community services. The design draws from the regions microclimate and combines a regionally sourced mass timber structure with industrial quality materials and finishes to offer a new vision for municipal service structures that merge operational considerations with workplace quality and environmental responsiveness.
