Entry Description

"The Flyway" is a reimagined pediatric center designed for children impacted by parental substance abuse, inspired by the migratory journey of the sandhill crane. Organized into three stages: the nesting ground, flyway path, and gathering field. The space supports exploration, expression, and belonging. Play areas, sensory gardens, and therapy rooms encourage communication and creativity, while natural materials, biophilia, and layered lighting foster comfort and wellbeing. The design creates a safe, joyful environment where children feel seen, heard, and connected.
